I visited Koo's Manufacturing facility today, in South Gate, CA. (Thank you Mr. Podway!)
Wow! Now I know why premium denim costs so much!
1. The fabric: all the fabric for Adrian Goldschmied jeans are tested at Koo's in South Gate. This is a big deal because many, (maybe most!) manufacturers of jeans don't test their fabric when they get it in. Koo's does! And, if it doesn't meet their quality control standards, guess what, they send it back to the factory!
2. The fabric: Koo's rolls all the fabric out on a table BEFORE it is cut for your jeans. Why is this important? The denim has time to relax (like you wearing it, huh?) This gives the fabric a better shape, and thus, a better fit for YOU.
3. Cutting: Even though they could, they don't cut the pattern pieces a million at a time. They cut only about 35 pieces at a time, better fit for YOU!
4. Extra details: Your buttons are NOT going to fall off with AG! They take an extra step and make the button flap 3 ply for you.
5. waist band: they use fusing on their waist bands, so they will keep their shape!
6. Pressing the seams open: why is this important? You can cuff your jeans better, AND the jeans will wear in a natural way.
7. Sanding: So cool! They do it by hand and by laser. They have some other really cool secret ways to finish your jeans too.
8. Organization: This place is so organized! They are much more likely to put out a quality product with this system.
9 Quality control: They look at every single pair of jeans to make sure that they are perfect for you.
10. Made in the USA, REALLY! I saw it with my own eyes in South Gate, CA!
